Thank you very, very very much!

Dear All

Well I have been overwhelmed by the good wishes from folk regarding my news that I have been lucky enough to have joined Crafter's Companion as Creative Development Officer and TV Guest presenter.  August has been an absolute whirlwind, a steep, steep learning curve  and I'm loving every moment! Everyone at the CC family have been so welcoming! I cannot believe that little old crafter me has been so fortunate. It is truly amazing!

Today's share is a card which takes me right back to where it all began with Sheena Douglass and my Paint Fusion roots:

So thank you, and I look forward to sharing even more adventures with you all

Four Day Deal Final 2 Shows Today at 1 p.m. and 5p.m.

Hi All

First a huge thank you for all your lovely comments - they are really appreciated xx

How amazing have the 4 Day Deal shows been? Cram packed with techniques and ideas and there are the last 2 shows today so if you've been hesitating  today is the final day:-)

The folders are so versatile so I thought I'd share a couple of quick makes using them:

This one couldn't be easier : Its the ornamental snowflake folder has been embossed on Sheena stamping card and coloured using Spun Sugar distress ink. The flakes have then been picked out with glitter and a Quickie Glue Pen.

Now this second one is a little stocking filler perhaps? A sticky note folder using just 2 folders; snowfall and evergreen on Crafter's Companion Pastel and Dark Centura Pearl. Its an idea that I adapted from one I found on SplitcoastStampers

So enjoy the shows and if you want more inspiration why not pop over here where you can see all the amazing samples created by the Inkoids!!!

Have a truly amazing Thursday xxx

Well 14 hours to go - final sneak peek ahead of Sheena Douglass's 4 Day Deal

Hi All.

Super busy and brill weekend with family and now a final sneak peak. Before sharing however here are the show times for Sheena's 4 Day Deal on Create and Craft:

Monday 21 July at 8.00 a.m., 1.00, 6.00 and 8.00 p.m.
Tuesday 22 July at 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
Wednesday 23 July at 2.00 and 9.00 p.m.
Thursday 24 July at 1.00 and 5.00 p.m.

So , without further ado what is more Christmassy than Holly and Robins?

The Holly folder was embossed  using Crafter's Companion watercolour card. I used a brayer to apply versa-mark to the raised holly and embossed using white EP. It was then painted using 3 H2O's from the Ultimate Romance set. The base of Kraft card just seemed to set it off..

So I hope that my and my DT pals samples have whetted your appetite and you can tune in to see Sheena's Crafty Christmas inspiration!!

Thanks for your comments - I love to receive them

Day 4 Sneak Peek.. tomorrow's the day.

Hi All

Lets hope its a lazy Sunday ( though I very much doubt that'll be the case for Sheena as she has to get the mountain of samples  loaded and ready to take down to Peterborough for tomorrow's launch!)

I really dithered about which sample to share today . This one is lovely and taken from the new A5 City Christmas. The skyline is just great as is the sleigh. Again this has been embossed on acetate and this time I've coloured them with Spectrum Noirs. The embellishment has been made with the new Evergreen embossing folder.

I may sneak another sneak peek in this evening - so watch this space! I'll also confirm the show times for those needing to commandeer the remote control. - Have a relaxing day.

Sunny or stormy Saturday? Day 3 of Sneaky Peeks

It is predicted that today could see some dramatic thunder storms. We have a belated birthday celebration with the family for my husband , sister, brother in law and me  (all our birthdays in the space of 19 days! - June / July are always busy!!)

Maybe that is why for today's post I've chosen  something other than a card!:  This tissue box cover is made from 3 sheets of Crafter's Companion Kraft Card - painted with Pebeo Dyna Blue paint ( from the LOONG box of paint) , the ornamental snowflake folder and Pebeo Silver gilding wax.

If anyone wants to know how to make it let me know by leaving a comment and I'll pop on a quick tutorial on Monday :-)

Remember, the 4 Day Deals kicks off on Monday at 8 a.m. on Create and Craft and I know that Sheena will have loads of ideas and tips on how to get the most from your folders.

Have a great day xx

The second Sneak Peek from Sheena's 4 Day Deal launching on Monday and , its FRIDAY!!!

Hi all

Its finally Friday  and  whilst for some the summer holidays are beckoning (today may be the hottest day of the year so far) here thoughts are firmly on Christmas!

For today's sneak peek  I have chosen a great image from Sheena's new A5 stamp sheet Country Christmas: This particular stamp image almost an A6 size on its own!

This  has got to be the easiest card to create - using just 2 distress inks (Black Soot and Festive Berries) and one of my new favourite products - Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle Pearl Diamond Glitter Varnish.  The only card used was Sheena's Stamping Card ( and red mirri of course). The main image was stamped in Black Soot and brushed out using just a damp brush. The umbrella coloured with the red distress ink and  then the whole lot given a spritz of the spray and sparkle - It looks just like it was printed on Centura Pearl! The layers are the new folders; Evergreen and Ornamental Snowflake.

As one of my DT pals, Caroline, said;  change the wording and the image would work well for Valentine's Day too!

So as the clock ticks down to the weekend I hope you all have a fabulous Friday

Sheena has a four day deal!!!

Hi All,

Firstly apologies - June has flown and July is heading the same way and my little blog has been seriously neglected (I could blame it on my age as I have now reached 50... I REALLY don't know how THAT happened LOL!)

But, moving on! The GREAT news is that Sheena has a four day deal with some wonderful new embossing folders and stamps starting Monday on Create and Craft (21 July) I will pop show times on here as they are confirmed but the launch show will be 8 a.m.

I have seen the samples and they are gorgeous and the DT has worked its little socks off to create some amazing projects. ( If you click here - you will find a link to everyone's blog)

But for my first offering I thought I would share this one:

Fellow crafters will know that sometimes you surprise yourself  with what you create and this was one of those occasions for me.

I found some double sided adhesive in my stash and it started from there: The card is about 8 x 8. so you can see that the new rooftops stamp is really sizeable.  The stamp was embossed on acetate and stuck to one side of the adhesive. Working on the reverse I then "coloured it with a a brown , bronze and gold glitter and gave the snowy areas a coat of white acrylic. Because I am impatient I then painted over the back of the glitter with 2 Luminarte Silks : a brown and gold.

Turning back to the front way I glittered the white areas using Katy Sue's Glitter Frosting -A hint of violet.

So to the rest of the card; The gorgeous blue is just black card painted with Luminarte Silk - Iris Petal. The Ivy is one of the lovely new folders with the embossing picked out using Pebeo Gold gilding was and the white backing card is embossed using another new Sheena embossing folder - falling snow.

Hope you like and hope you enjoy the shows and all of Sheena's inspiration

Have a great day

Final sneak peek ahead of Sheena's shows tomorrow:

Hi All,
Well nearly Friday! Just to confirm tomorrow's shows on Create and Craft are 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. I thought I'd finish with a quick and simple card - the sentiment appealed to my sense of humour and worked well with the image - both of which are from Sheena's new stamp plates ( as I mentioned a couple of days ago tomorrow's shows are a mix of old favourites as well as the new plates and they work brilliantly together:

So without further ado:

I really think the chicks are adorable - they're stamped in walnut stain distress ink and just a damp brush used to pull the colour out. I used Sheena's Curly Swirly embossing folder on the mat and that interesting Hessian...? I nicked a (new) leaf compost sack from the garden shed ( shh!!.. don't tell the best beloved ;-))

Anyway enjoy the shows - the DT have had enormous fun playing with these and if you want to see some more please pop over here to pick up the links to their blogs.

Have a wonderful evening

Just 2 more sleeps! Sheena shows on Create and Craft this Friday

Hi All

Today I thought I'd share this  little box, made with the new King for a Day stamps from Sheena Douglass that launch on Friday at 11 a.m. on Create and Craft. The little papier-mache box was painted with a single coat of Pebeo black gesso and daubed with some Luminarte Silks using a sponge. The swirl is from Sheena's Flying Colours collection.

The crown, kingfisher (coloured using Spectrum Noir pens and pencils and painted with Ice silks) and sentiment are from the stamps launch.

Thanks for your comments - I really do value them :-)

Have a great day

Sheena Sneaky Peek No 1.!

Hi All,

Sheena has 3 shows on Create and Craft this Friday featuring some new stamps AND a few favourites :-) Show times are 11 a.m, 4p.m. and 7 p.m. So if like me you only have Freeview then the 7 p.m. show will be  on the internet ( isn't technology great - when it works! ;-) )

So my sneaky peak combines both old and new and stretched my ultimate pro skills to make the birdhouse!

The chicks and the bird are from one of the gorgeous new plates. The bird and chicks were coloured using Spectrum Noir Pens and the bird house was made using the wrong side of Centura Pearl card and 3 distress inks; seedless preserves, picked raspberry and milled lavender.  The chicks are just adorable!  I'll post a peek with them and some great sentiments later in the week but if you can't wait pop here to find the links to the Design Team Blogs and Sheena's page.

Looking forward to sharing loads more so please pop back tomorrow

why are cards for men and boys SUCH a challenge??

Evening all,

Every now and then I make cards that are not samples(;-)) Cards for men and boys continue to be a challenge - nearly as much as buying them presents! But, as one of my nephew's birthday loomed nearer it was time to bite the bullet and here's the result - what do you think?

In case anyone wonders the London Skyline is an x -cut set.

It's gonna be a bright, sunshiny day...tomorrow...possibly

Well at least Sheena's shows at 9 a.m. and 3 tomorrow on Create and Craft  should be bright and cheerful even if we can't rely on the weather!!

A trip to India may be just what I need ...hmm...! So onto a couple of sneak peeks: Other than on the sentiment  on the second card no stamps were used purely folders. The elephants are cut from the elephant embossing folder and the ornate  screen and lattice used on the background.

The second card is using the fab mandalla folder distress inks and a bit of silks used as a resist.

I love the loud colours and hope you approve? ;-)

I can see....2 Sheena Shows on Create and Craft Monday 12 May!

Evening folks!

Just popping by to share the great news that Sheena is reprising her recent Indian collection on Create and Craft on Monday 12th May at 9 am. and 3 p.m.

So there will be more demos, ideas tips and treats in store! I do love the collection and used a variety of the folders together with just the backing papers on the Sheena's Indian CD (that the Inkoids helped create ;-) ) to jazz up this mirror (that cost peanuts) from that well known Swedish store!

The embossed card has just a touch of gilding wax . The whole thing just made me smile and was a really quick make too!

Have a fabbie evening

A host of golden daffodils

I thought I'd share this little make - a daffodil card with one of Sheena's taste of India embossing folders in the background.

A restrained little number but this was a card for a person rather than a sample and designed to match the recipient's personal taste. The tiny daffodil stamp was repeat stamped and the whole thing coloured with Spectrum Noirs and then triple embossed.

Have a great Easter weekend

Sheena's 4 day deal

Hi all,

Hope you have been enjoying the live Sheena shows the past couple of days? Tomorrow she has 3 more and they may be the final ones this week at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Remember to email in for a chance to win the fabulous picture and frame made by Goph himself!!

I also thought I'd share a little some I made for mother's day:

Now the reason for sharing it is that you might just notice how well the Taste of India range stamps compliment the recent Butterflies and Florals . It certainly had an impact! :-)

Enjoy the shows tomorrow

Love n hugs

Tomorrow, tomorrow!!! :-)

It is a glorious morning here and I am worn out just watching the London Marathon!

So finally we are here and tomorrow is lift off - Yay!!! 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. tomorrow on Create and Craft - definitely one to watch :-)

Here are today's offerings with a focus on the amazing folders - they are perfect in their own right but also compliment the stamps beautifully:

This is one of the 5 x 7 folders - Indian Bouquet- I inked the folder with versamark and then embossed it in black. The distress inks used were, Picked raspberry, Mowed Grass and Salty Ocean - so quick and simple!

The second card  followed the same process of inking the folder with versamark but this time on the de-bossing side. The Mandalla folder is an A4 so, to make it easy on myself I used a brayer to apply the versamark ( Less chance of it squishing into places you don't want it to be!) I then embossed a sheet of heat resistant acetate and used a black embossing powder. The vibrant colours are Luminarte Silks painted on the reverse.

Have a fabulous Sunday - and enjoy the shows tomorrow

Sheena Douglass Taste of India 4 Day Deal Monday - BE THERE!! :-)

Prevening ( BBT fans will understand ;-)) All,

I hear tell of much merriment planned for the  launch of this latest range on Monday on Create and Craft - I truly believe you will want to see it (wink, wink...) You can also find some other amazing samples by Sheena and the Inkoids if you click here

I am going to dive right into this  prevening's  blog with this:

A subtle little number I'm sure you agree :-).

The MDF hanger was painted using Luminarte Silks and over stamped in Stazon using that gorgeous paisley stamp. The flower is again painted using silks.

So tune in again tomorrow for a final peek - before launch.

Have a great evening!

Day 3 Taste of India sneaky peek :-)

Afternoon All!

By now folks have picked up that Sheena has a new launch  on Monday on Create and Craft; a four day deal no less. (If it lasts that long...personally; I wouldn't bet that it'll hang around ...I think this collection is STUNNING!!)

The stamps and folders are simply divine and work so beautifully together - there is also a resource CD with 40 yummy backing papers that the Inkoids had a hand in doing!

So today's card is .......

of course, a regal tiger! The 8 x 8 card uses one of the backing papers from the CD which was then over-stamped using that fab edge stamp. The cutest little elephant stamp frames the ribbon.

I used the ornate arches folder very simply with distress ink and then attached the tiger ( that stamp alone is over 3.5 inches wide!!). The embellishments are leaves made with the A4 embossing folder that were then clear embossed. A good card for a fella perhaps?

It is so easy to play and get inspired with this collection. Sheena has also filmed some EXCLUSIVE demos on the resource CD for extra inspiration! ( Its definitely on my shopping list!)

So might be worth checking your recording device of choice is set for 8 a.m. Monday!!

Finally, thank you for the lovely comments - they really are appreciated xxx

Spicy and spiritual - my 2nd sneaky peek .

Evening all!

Today has been a BUSY day so apologies that this sneaky peek is a little later than planned. I thought I would share this spicy offering:

The rich, vibrant tones of this card are a marriage of 5 of my speccies with  the new mandalla stamps  that are a part of the Taste of India range and then getting lost in the zentangle process. It was a really joyful card to make...if that makes sense! Within the orange zentangled background you can just spot the tiny floral stamp :-)

Sheena's 4 Day Deal on Create and Craft starts Monday at 8 a.m. and it promises to be a spectacular that I am absolutely sure you will want to see!! I understand that Douglass towers was groaning under the mass of samples arriving from me and my fellow inkoids today - if you click here you will find the links to the DT blogs! - Enjoy!!

More tomorrow :-)

Love n hugs

Tune into Create and Craft at 3 p.m. today...

for the launch of wor Sheena's new stamps!  My final sneak peek is seriously pink made using the 2 butterfly stamps - the detail one fits over the other "base" one beautifully and the florals with a tad of faux bleaching. It feels  very optimistic

The background is distress inks on centura pearl.

Have a fab weekend!  Sorry to miss the MK workshop but have a great time all you folks heading off to the workshop with Sheena! :-)

Speed bloggery for a Thursday

Afternoon (just!!)

Well ahead of of the launch of Sheena's new stamps on Saturday at 3 p.m. here is one more sneak peek .

This one was made using one of the butterfly plates - a great sentiment and H2O's (Carnivale and Shades of You sets) on Crafter's Companion black card which really shows off their vibrancy and bling! This is another 8 x 8 card to give you an indication of scale.

Enjoy the shows. If you pop over to Sheena's blog here - you can see all the new stamps!!

Wednesday, 12 March 2014

a little bit of bloggery

Well the whirlwind that is Sheena is back on screen THIS Saturday on Create and Craft at 3 p.m. with a brand spanking new set of stamps! The DT have been SO inspired that I fear she may have trouble fighting through the mountain of samples to leave mission control ;-).

Comprising butterflies and flowers with a twist - this is a really gorgeous new release and the sentiments are just spot on (IMHO) ;-)!

Today's offering features the stamps and my Spectrum noirs and a little zentangle magic. The picture tutorial for the background can be found here. These stamps are sizeable - this is an 8 x 8 card!!

If you pop here you will find links to the DT blogs - definitely worth a look if you have a mo..

I will try to post another peek tomorrow

have a great evening

Wednesday, 26 February 2014

One day more..another day another destiny!

A bit of a rousing Les Mis chorus to start the day :-) and a couple of sneak peeks made using the same stamp from the new collection that Sheena launches tomorrow.

The show times are confirmed as 9 a.m., 1p.m. and 6 p.m. on Create and Craft.

Both cards have been made using a gorgeous vintage floral and the sentiments plate. The first is distress inky background and a distress ink / faux bleached topper that was then triple embossed.

Then a different style / colour for me with the same stamp used to make a pretty pastel card
This stamp is going to be a really useful one for several occasions I think.

So you know the drill hide the remote control now/ book the sofa or set those recording devices :-)
Have a great day!

Tuesday, 25 February 2014

Listen do you want to know a secret? Ooo ee Ooo

Yep, today's earworm on the theme of mystery comes courtesy of the Beatles. ( Just be grateful that you can't hear the tuneless humming!)

Today's card is another from the new stamps that launch on Thursday on Create and Craft at 9 a.m. and again, I think would be good for a fella:

I used 3 Luminarte silks; Pretty Peridot, Yellow Rose and Cinnamon Brown firstly on the back of the acetate topper, and on the embossed panel using Sheena's distress embossing folder and on the ivy embellishment which again was made using Sheena's ivy folder. The stamp and sentiment are from the new stamps and finally the backing paper is the Ivy embossing folder with a hint of Pebeo Gilding wax.

One more peek tomoz - have a great day!

Monday, 24 February 2014

It's a mystery, oh it's a mystery....

Respect to one of my fav Toyah songs but this particular mystery is courtesy of wor Sheena and the launch of the new Mystery stamps. Paying homage to Miss Marple, Morse, Agatha Raisin and others of that ilk, they are sure to appeal!

The stamps launch this Thursday on Create and Craft at 9 a.m., 2p.m. and 6 p.m. Today's sneak peek is using the fab typewriter...I think it would make a great card for a fella and a change from the usual sport or booze images:

The typewriter ribbon is plain ribbon coloured using spectrum noir pens

More sneak peaks tomorrow :-)

Just 3 days to go to Sheena's amazing 4 day deal!

Afternoon All,

I have really had fun playing with these new embossing folders from Sheena Douglass. Today's card is another made completely from them.

This is an 8 x 8 card and I've used 2 of the folders on black card. The butterflies and dragon fly is a 5 x 7 and was painted with H2O's and highlighted with Pebeo Gilding Wax. In the background you can see a fab  A4 Ivy folder at work.  This card is very blingy in real life and I loved creating it.

Remember the four day deal starts Monday so make sure you have those recording devices ready

Have a great weekend!

Get ready for a 4 day Sheena-thon!!

Hi all!

a belated Happy New Year to you and well, here's a post that I have been itching to share! A veritable feast of Sheena as she launches a new 4 day deal on Create and Craft starting Monday 27th January.

I believe that this is going to be 4 days chock full of techniques , new and old and a must for topping up the inspiration banks. Today's sneak peek is a card which started as Kraft card and used no stamps whatsoever... so the question is "How did she do that?? " :-)

Well the answer chums is embossing folders. This card uses two of the new collection; an A4 ivy and an amazing 5 x 7 ruins folder used to emboss and print. The folders have been designed to work with Sheena's stamps but work brilliantly in their own right. The team have done some incredible samples so remember to pop over to sheena's blog at Sheena.tv and pick up the links to the DT blogs.

I will be posting a new peek each day till Monday and hopefully all the show times as soon as they are up. Best hide the remote now if I were you!!
