Just for Kate :-)

Good morning ,

Well, dining room discovered and ironing done so all that is on the list for today is to put the tree up and discover how many of the Christmas lights ( which were working when we put them away) have  survived their storage ( there's always B&Q for emergency replacements).

Anyway as some of the photos in crafty fusioneers on Facebook are not playing nicely.. I attach a pick of the poinsettia wreath that I was determined to make this year... so Kate, this post's for you!

Good afternoon ( well if you're indoors anyway)

What a wintry day - the storms in the North look horrible... here in the south it's only blowy and grey but still, a better day to be indoors rather than outside.

Today's cards are made using Sheena's "Wouldn't it be lovely" stamp set. Both using Luminarte's H20's but in the second  I have painted with them on CC watercolour card and in the first I used them over promarkers on Neenah card. I do like the fact that they are so versatile :-)

Have a warm and dry afternoon

Luminarte H2O and Sheena C&C 9th December

More playing  - but this time NO mention  of Christmas. Have been playing more with the H2O's being relaunched by Sheena on C&C  on 9 December and her Faith stamp set.

On Centura Pearl paper ( the pearly side) the background colours were a wash of H2O's and then the image painted, again with H2O's. I then water-coloured the little blue-tit and decoupaged it. Turned out OK I think..

Comments always welcome so do let me know what you think

Luminarte Twinkling H2O's and Sheena: Create and Craft Friday 9 December

Firstly, who nicked the first week in December??? I swear it has just vanished. I have very little done for Christmas as I have been having FAR TO MUCH FUN discovering the joys of H2O's. I hadn't used these little pots of loveliness before so this has been quite an adventure.

2 Christmas themed cards today , given that its only 19 days away..(OMG - now WOULD be an appropriate time to panic I think ;-))

Bah humbug Sheena stamps  and twinkling H2O's on image and for the snow flakes

One of my favourite Sheena Stamps is the  rooftops one. I even managed to capture a bit of the twinkle in this pic - not easy on a camera but just goes to show how sparkly they are !
Have a warm and crafty evening!

Luminarte Radiant Rain and foils: Last Sneaky peek before lift off!

Hello Peeps,

All you need is Love - and that seems a fitting finale  before Sheena's Radiant Rain shows on Create and Craft on Monday 28 November.

2 cards to share today, both on the theme of love. The first is using the gorgeous radiant rain sprays on tissue paper which, when coloured, was backed with silver paper. The hearts are from the fab Sticky two mini foil set and the whole lot was then clear embossed.

Love, love, love

All you need is love
The second card is made using the 12 x 12 existencil  with embossing paste and radiant rain sprays. Another  existencil  was used for the leaves on core'dinations card  from the super assortment pack (it is massive!) and run through my trusty cuttlebug! Finally just a couple more foils from the same mini foil pack as before.

If you haven't  found it already do pop over to Sheena's blog and  watch the excellent tutorials she has now posted on using radiant rains - 2 projects from start to finish, brilliant!

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think..

Have a peaceful and crafty weekend xx

Simply seashore Sneaky peek day 4

Hello there ....

Well, seems a bit quiet with everyone gone to the Craftaganza... but were still here andI  thought I would share  something that is just clean and simple - a little card made using the new ocean foil kit  . I just adore the coloured foils in this pack.

Sheena will be demoing all these great new products on Create and Craft on 28 November (4 shows). I have booked the sofa and remote control already!!

Have a fabulous day!

Today's sneaky peek - thanks Aileen and Catherine!

Hi there

Well, as there were 2 suggestions I decided to choose them both - thanks Aileen and Catherine! . Aileen's choice first:

This one was made using some fab new stencils as well as the Luminarte Radiant rain mists that Sheena Douglass is launching on Create and Craft on 28th November. (Check out this Crafters Companion link for the amazing Existencil 12 x12 stencils!) I used embossing paste over the stencil and then sprayed the Neenah  card with 2 of the radiant rain mists in jasmine and ginger peach.

The central panel is using a pink core-dinations card stock  sprayed with wine and roses as are the vellum butterflies ( I added a touch of silver glitter spray to make them extra sparkly!!)

Butterfly love

The second peek is Catherine's choice: For this one I used another existencil stencil but this time a 6 x 6 that I embossed onto core-dinations card stock and spritzed with ginger peach and edged using distress inks. I'm sure you will recognise the leaf embellishments as being Sheena's Autumn Leaves set. I am particularly pleased with the central image made using the olive vine radiant rain dabber on the back of a beech leaf I grabbed from the garden and whilst out there I snaffled a bit of garden twine in place of the ribbon!  The sentiment is another Sheena set - this time Seasons Branches

To everything a season

Anyhow that's all for now - thanks for taking the time to look - as ever any comments are warmly welcomed!

Take care of you x

Today's sneaky peek - tomorrow you choose!

Hi there folks

Still getting messy - though streak of pink in hair is fading to a baby pink (Note to self - do NOT run inky fingers through hair!) Today's offering Autumn Garland  was inspired by the plane tree in the road outside my house - the colours this year were just stunning weren't they? It came out pretty well, The leaves could not be simpler ...I sprayed Luminarte Radiant Rain onto crunched up tissue paper and then stuck that (shimmer side up) onto silver paper. The leaves were then cut out using spellbinders.

The sentiment is from Sheena's Autumn leaves stamp and finally a few dots of glossy accents for raindrops! This one is  really shimmery in real life :-)

Autumn Leaves

So...I have 8 further samples and was going to do 3/4 more sneeky peeks. I can't decide which so I thought I'd ask you to choose. Please leave me a comment with the title that takes your fancy! They are

1.Arts and crafts style tile
2.Love, Love,Love
3.Simply rosebay willowherb
4.Butterfly love
5. Beech and butterfly
6 Manic deco rose
7. Seashore
8 To everything a season

One of these is a wildcard ( no Luminarte spray but just the gorgeous foils!)

Have a crafty day!

Sneaky Peek time again!

Hi there!

Well, I have green hands and a fetching pink streak in my hair but have never been happier! For this second set of samples for the sensational Sheena I got to play with the new  Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mists and colour concentrates from Creative Imaginations ( and some fab foils  and stencils too...but more about those later in the week!)

Sheena said play and so I have! Being a real novice with these I have had great fun experimenting with effects and one of my favourites was using crunched tissue paper which when dry was then stuck on silver paper (Letratac on the silver paper then stick the tissue onto that). So here is the first play....

mystic fern ( from Optimism set) on tissue.

The fern was  embossed using Sheena WOW powder ( brass sparkle)  and the whole lot double embossed in clear embossing powder. (I love this result, it reminds me of Josephine Wall colours and I am thinking that there must be a way of turning it into jewellery....) The backing sheet is the wrong side of centura pearl which really is a perfect surface for distress inks and big and juicy ink pads .

I had 4 colour sprays to play with: ginger peach - a yellow, wine and roses - a purple, autumn leaf - brown/gold and jasmine - a deep pink colour and  4 concentrates (dabbers) ginger peach, wine and roses, jasmine and olive vine - a green.

Sheena will be using these in her show - 28 Nov on C&C  - happy, happy!

Please leave a comment - feedback is always welcome!

Today I have been mostly.... or when did I think it would be a good idea to make all the Christmas Cards?

Hello...well, even lil' old house mouse is losing its appeal right now... about 40 or so cards in  and so many more to go. I never did get the hang of batch card making so each one becomes its own little project.

Here are a couple on a different theme - though anyone eagle eyed will spot the Sheena addition on card 3!
Happy crafting!x

Hello fusion stamps, I've missed you!

A trip to the garden centre and a gasp at the price of the Christmas decorations inspired my latest playing.

Nordic style card
I said I would post the recipe for making it so here goes:

8x8 card blank
7.5 x7.5 square of pine card or paper
Silver mirri card
Piece of red /white checked cloth or paper ( I got a BARGAIN roll of something called DRAP - a disposable fabric place setting from CARGO on Saturday)
Bit of red ribbon
3 buttons and bakers twine
White, forest green and red pebeo paint
Silver krylon pen for edging or embossing powder

I stamped Sheena's Christmas tree in green staz-on onto the fabric and then filled in the whole thing with red paint. Enough of the green was still showing through for me to go over the outline in white with a fine brush. The Christmas branch was from the same stamp set and painted using white and green with the half inch brush. The tree decs were added with Cosmic Shimmer pearlised PVA but any embellies would do. Stitches round the edge of the red gingham are "oh so simple"; a short white dash with shorter black line on each end. Ribbon was added then three buttons threaded with a bakers twine bow  and stuck on with pin-flair glue. The whole thing was then mounted  onto a silver mirri square using stick and stay.

The topper was stuck onto a square of pine paper that had been edged in silver and put onto  the card blank.

Finally, the greeting was embossed onto a strip of the same pine backing paper and attached  - with a bow.

I hope that makes sense but do ask any questions if you need to.

Day 5 Sneaky Peek - Just Pining...!

Thought I would post two cards made from the Pine tree stamp set (Sheena's sketchy stamps know, the ones that launch Sunday....have I mentioned that before??)

The first one... Pines on pine - the idea just appealed to me and the second has more of that vintage , shabby chic thing going on.

Have a crafty day! xx

(me? I'm off to have a large, wake-me-up coffee!)

I think today deserves to be marked with a second sneaky peek at the new Sheena sketchy stamps!

Hi folks - well, Sheena has received my very first ever batch of samples and the lady from del-monte, she says yes! I am so pleased that she is pleased that I thought I'd celebrate with a second sneaky peek at the her new set of sketchy stamps. This offering is using  the tree and wild flower set on a background made by printing on plain card with a cello bag and then going a bit crazy with pumice, stormy sky and crushed velvet distress inks.

As always please leave a comment I love hearing what you think! More tomorrow  (and only 3 sleeps left till launch!).

G'day Mates!! - Sneaky Peek Day 4, Sheena Douglass sketchy stamps

Well G'day Mates! Today's sneaky peek at the talented Sheena Douglass's sketchy stamps has a distinctly antipodean feel. (I couldn't resist getting out the ol' acrylic paints any longer! There's also a little attempt at brayering going on. :-))

On the main image I used the wild-flower set and big and juicy ink-pad, in foliage, in the background. The flowers are embossed with Sheena's WOW  powders - gold glitter. Turned out OK I think...but would love to know what you think.

Have a crafty day! xx

Sheena Douglass "A little bit sketchy" launches Sunday 30 October

Wednesday, 26 October 2011

My really is day 3!!

Where does the time go? It is gone midnight so it really is time for sneaky peak number three! Today's offering not only features Sheena's wonderful new stamp set (roll on Sunday... I will be avidly watching  Sheena's demo's)  but also Sheena's WOW powders... the superfine rich gold was used to emboss some REALLY garish skeleton leaves (that I am at a loss to explain why I bought them...) quite incredibly, it worked

Please let me know what you think xx

creative chaos....

I have just surveyed the chaos of my dining room table... oh dear...

I blame Sheena! :-)

Day 2 Sheena sketchy stamps sneaky peek!

Thank you for the lovely comments that you left me here and on facebook; folks have been very kind.

I was (almost) tempted to post a pic of the creative chaos that used to be my dining table (!) but even being so close to Halloween I really don't think it's kind of me to scare folks like that ... but musing on the dining table chaos led to thoughts of food and then to, today my sneaky peek is an old kitchen tile. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think, thanks

Day 2 Sneaky peek Sheena's Sketchy Stamps

Be gentle with me!

Hi there,

Well WHAT a year! Not only has my passion for crafting been all consuming but I was recently honoured to be asked to join the design team for the most amazingly talented Sheena Douglass!

So deep breath.... ( and please be gentle with me crafty fusioneer pals!) here is my first sneeky peep of the incredible new set of sketchy stamps - it is fair to say that I have been crafting like a good-un with my head buzzing with inspiration...I know that you are going to LOVE them.

further tales of my fusion addiction...

Firstly my thanks to all the people who left such wonderful comments on the canvas on Sheena Douglass's blog: I have been overwhelmed by the kind comments and encouragement and have made some new friends as a result!

My experiments with fusioning are continuing and I have adopted the approach of diving right in, which seems to work for me! We however no longer have a dining room as the space has become my "studio" so TV dinners for a while I think....

Rather than burbling on  here is a pic of my attempt at sunflowers

Am off to play with the new paper mache blanks that arrived this morning and who knows where that will lead.

We all start somewhere.....

Well hi and welcome to my new blog - thanks for dropping by...

This blog is dedicated to getting creative, play and getting messy. It will record my attempts at crafting: my new favourites and having fun. Please feel free to leave comments (constructive ones preferred !) and share your own crafting discoveries.
